Master Key System Installation for Phoenix Businesses

ACME Locksmith designs and installs master key systems across the Phoenix metro. We are a licensed, veteran-owned company, in business since 1997, with four valley shops and more than 170,000 jobs completed, and we have built systems for buildings with over 400 doors and corporations with multiple locations. A locksmith master key system lets one key open every door while each person carries only the key for the doors they are allowed to use. We map the access, pin the cylinders, and keep a key chart so future changes never open the wrong door. We serve Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale, Gilbert, and the Valley.

How a Master Key System Works

Access by level, so people only open what they should.

master keying

One key for owners

Senior staff and owners carry a single master key that opens every deadbolt, door lock, padlock, and storage room across the building.

A Master Pinned Cylinder Has More Than One Shear Line

Department-level keys

Department heads get a key that opens every door in their area, and nothing outside it. The owner’s master still opens those same doors.

Individual office keys

Staff carry a key to their own office only. Three clean levels: office, department, and master, with as many tiers as you need.

Pinned Right, Documented for Life

A standard cylinder has one shear line and works with one key. To master a lock, we add master pins that create extra shear lines so more than one key turns the cylinder. Add the right pins and a single door can work with several keys, which is what makes building-wide access possible.

Stacking shear lines can accidentally let one door’s key open another. We design every system in software that calculates the cuts for hundreds of keys so that never happens, and we keep a key chart so future keys stay clean. In most cases no new door hardware is required.

Why Businesses Master Key

Fewer keys to carry

Managers, security, and cleaning crews carry one key instead of a heavy ring, so doors stop getting left unlocked.

Access by authority

People enter only the doors they are authorized for, and everything stays locked after hours.

Easy turnover

When someone leaves, you only rekey the doors they could open. A restricted key system can remove even that.

Restricted keyways

Add patent-protected keys so no one copies a building key at a hardware store.

Multi-location ready

Add a tier per site: one building key, one campus key, one master across them all.

Padlocks included

Tie padlocks and storage into the same system so the master runs those too.

What is a master key system?

A keying setup where one master key opens many doors while each person’s key opens only the doors they need. It is built by adding master pins to the cylinders so more than one key can turn each lock.

Do I need to buy new locks?

Usually no. In most cases we rekey your existing cylinders into the master system. The exceptions are very old buildings with mixed hardware or adding padlocks to the same key.

You only rekey the doors that person could open. If they were a department head, we rekey that department. A restricted key system can avoid rekeying altogether.

Can one key accidentally open the wrong door?

Not when it is designed properly. We use software that calculates the cuts for hundreds of keys and keep a key chart so new keys never open doors they should not.

How big a system can you build?
